Good News Minute

I have been feeling pretty down and out lately. You know how it is, your feeling fat, your a slave to your responsibilites and you wish your husband was home more. Despite the dark cloud over my head, there have been a couple things to feel good about.
  • Last year when my tomatoes were done producing I left a few rotten tomatoes in the planter as compost. When we were replacing our water heater 2 weekends ago I drained the water heater into the planter to get the soil wet and ready for planting new tomatoes. A few days ago I noticed probably 20 or so tomato starts growing in my planter. Now I don't have to buy new plants and I'll be excited to find out what type of tomatoes are going to appear on the stems.
  • By the time I heard about the rice shortage the stores we already depleted. It was a great surprise when I found a bag of rice in my food storage. I didn't even know it was there. So, we have rice.
  • It has been 5 months since Trevor was born and my hair is only now just starting to fall out. I am glad that I have been able to keep my new found volume and curls for as long as I have. My hair is falling out just in time for summer which works out great for me.

That's all for me. I hope the sun comes out soon.

It's All Fun & Games 'Til Someone Poops Their Pants

I needed to get out of the house today, so I took myself to a movie. Lincoln Square Cinemas has Mother's Day Thursdays where you can see a new release without worrying about your baby being the one screaming during the movie. I saw "What Happens in Vegas" and it was surprisingly not bad. Trevor did great. He slept almost the whole movie in the Moby wrap...until the last 10 minutes when I heard and felt the rumble down under. I could just tell from the sound and the duration that Mount Poopy Diaper had just erupted all over the place. Good thing I had a change of clothes, albeit Pj's, in the diaper bag and a dark movie theater to hide the sight of my baby covered in mustard-colored poop. All-in-all is was a good outing.

He's Finally Getting Hair!

I haven't posted in a while, but so much has happened. Our trip to Utah was good and I have posted lots of pictures on Trevor's website. The one thing I have noticed most about Trevor lately is that he is finally starting to grow some hair. Seems the Rogaine I have been taking is crossing over into my breastmilk. (j/k) You might look at this picture and think, "Hey, he hardly has any hair at all", but he has a whole lot more than he had 3 weeks ago and I'll take it.
