Rafting the Cedar River

Last time we took Trevor rafting on the Cedar River he was 7 months old and he slept the entire way.  It was a lazy float on the 4th of July.

The day before his second trip, he and Austin helped Darren get the boat all ready for the trip.  Trevor even took a moment to practice his paddling commands.

This time down the river was not a nice easy float, there was whitewater and Trevor loved it.  He had all the right gear to keep warm and safe, a wetsuit, river shoes, splash jacket, a helmet, croakies for his sunglasses, and a PFD (aka, life jacket).

Here is a short video from Darren's helmet cam of us running the biggest rapid on this section of the river, Double D rapid.

Tieton River Fun

Over Labor day weekend we went camping again, but this time we also went rafting.  Thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law, Dawna I was able to go rafting both Friday and Saturday.  On Friday the weather was perfect and I was able to R3 (which just means we used a smaller 11' boat with only 3 people in it).  Here are some awesome pictures from the trip.

But as fun as the rafting was, and it was fun, the best part of the weekend was during the second run on Saturday when I was able to lay down in the tent and take a nap with Austin in my arms and Trevor right next to us.  The wind was gusting probably 40 MPH and our tent was close to blowing over.  Both boys would occasionally wake up from the noise and then fall back asleep because they knew I was there and they trusted me to keep them safe.  Instead of napping I spent 2+ hours just watching my sweet, sleeping boys (and praying that the tent wouldn't blow over).

Going Over Husum Falls

So way back in August Darren took me rafting on the White Salmon river for our anniversary. I finally got pictures from the trip, more specifically I got pictures of myself dropping over a 10ft waterfall called Husum Falls. It was a blast!! (Click on each picture to make it bigger.)

So this is us just before we drop 10ft off Husum Falls.
If you look at this picture close up you'll see that I am giggling like a little girl.Ok, now I have stopped giggling and I am screaming.Yep. Still screaming. Here I am submerged underwater and this is when our guide Sean falls out of the boat. Here we are completely submerged after the 10ft drop. But it doesn't take long for us to pop back up...Minus our guide Sean who was stuck in the hole under the falls. Don't worry they got him out.
You can't see me in this picture, and that is probably a good thing because I am positive I was coughing and sputtering just like everyone else.
It was a ton 'o fun and for those of you doing the math...yes, yes I was. I just didn't know it yet. :0)
