7th Month

Austin turned 7 months old yesterday.  Here is his 7th month in pictures.

He has the biggest blue eyes, just like Trevor did.

And has always has his hands in his mouth.

This month he figured out how to sit like a big boy.

 

 

He loves to eat real food, especially those Gerber puffs.  He can't quite get them in his mouth without help, but lucky for him Trevor loves to help.

See his blue lip??  He sucked it so hard he bruised it!!!!

Austin also saw his first snow fall the other day.  He didn't quite know what to think when we were outside, but back inside he was all smiles.

I'm Back

It has been a rough couple of weeks, but I am back and better than ever.

On this Thanksgiving morning I am grateful for the family and friends who have been so supportive of me.  I am also grateful for modern medicine and that Heavenly Father has inspired man to create medications that helps heal our bodies and minds.  I am grateful for my sweet little boys who bring joy and inspiration to my life.  And for my husband who never gives up on me, as tempting as it may be at times.

I love you all and Happy Thanksgiving.

My sister-in-law, Deborah had a great idea!

In an effort to make it easier for you to keep track of me once I go private (either tonight or tomorrow) I have created a second public blog that you can add to Google Reader.  The new blog is: mindynhalesupdate.blogspot.com

Going Private

Austin's Tattoo

It was all my fault.  Austin needed black socks to wear with his costume and I just happened to have some black RIT dye and an extra pair of white socks, so I dyed them on Saturday night.

Sunday morning we were running late for church and the socks weren't quite dry yet, but I put those newly dyed socks on his little feet anyway, slapped on his shoes and we were off.

After the sacrament it occurred to me that maybe those recently dyed and still wet socks were dying his feet black.  And I was right...they were.

He went bare foot for the rest of church and I thought to myself, "this will make a great story for the blog."

The Boys with No Toys

In an effort to prepare for Christmas and his birthday, Trevor and I went through all the toys in his room and he decided which toys should go to "the boys with no toys".  Sometimes he needed a little coaxing, but for the most part he willingly donated about 15% of his toys.

Most of the ones that made it in the donate bin I was more than happy to see go, but some toys I had grown sentimental over, like some trucks he got from a friend, a bunny he got from great-grandma, and a truck from grandpa.  But he insisted the the boys with no toys needed them, so off they go.

We also made a considerable donation to "the moms with no clothes who are skinnier than me".
